     Preview To "Life redemption"

The day Abdul returned to school, he felt all eyes on him as people whispered amongst themselves. He got into his first period, which was English class early trying to avoid everyone.

He took his usual seat by the window. Abdul knew something was up because Mark Bates, who always came late to class, was early for a change. He sat in back of Abdul smiling with his one gold front tooth, like the Cheshire cat.

“It’s good to see that you’ve made it to class early for once, Mr. Bates” The teacher stated entering the class.

“Jus’ tryin’ to learn sumptin’, ya knowmsayin’?” He made more of a statement than a question.

“No, I do not know what you are saying, but it is still good to see you show some incentive.” The teacher replied.

“Muthafucka’ you’ll probably show up fo’ ya

own funeral late. Talkin’ ‘bout, God, I was wit’ shorty an’ she was givin’ me head. I ain’t look at da time.” The Asian boy named Hsu told the whole class, as he sat opposite Abdul’s left. One thing about Hsu was that he spoke like he was from the hood using slang like everyone else.

Mark nudged Abdul on the back. He ignored Hsu’s comments. Mark was trying to get Abdul’s attention.

“What?” Abdul asked turning around to face Mark.

“Naw chill, don’t hurt me karate kid.” Mark placed his hands up as if in defense saying, “Heard what popped off ‘tween ya an’ James, B.”

“And what? He your friend or something?” Abdul asked.

“Friend?” Mark laughed in a mocking manner. “Naw, B! Dat muthafucka’ ain’t my friend. Dat muthafucka’ always tryin’ to diss me an’ shit, B. Talkin’ ‘bout me behind my back, dissin’ my gear an, shit. Talkin’ ‘bout how dark I’m.”

“Muthafucka’ ya ass dark anyway!” Hsu interjected in their conversation.

“Fuck ya! Ya chop suey eatin’ muthafucka’.” Mark whispered to Hsu.

“I was only jokin’ wit’ ya ass, Mark, chill! Ya ass don’t gotta go there wit’ da racial shit! Ya gettin’ too sensitive an’ shit.” Hsu told Mark hearing the annoyance in his voice. “I thought they say da darker da berry da sweeter da juice?” Hsu

laughed.

“Maybe ya ass need to tell Meka dat shit ‘cause I ain’t no homo, B.” Mark said.

          “Fuck ya!” Hsu replied.

“Naw, don’t swing dat way either, knowmsayin’?” Mark continued his discussion with Abdul. “Yo, like I was sayin’, I wan’ to knock James punk ass out a couple of times. Looks like ya beat me to it. Get it, beat me to it.” Mark laughed at his own joke. His laugh got a little loud. “Ya name, Abu, right?”
